Raissi won 104 votes out of a total of 151 votes, 61% of the total number of countries that voted in the elections, compared to 47 votes obtained by his opponent from the Czech Republic.

Major General Dr. Ahmed Al Raisi stressed in his speech after the vote that this victory is a culmination of the UAE’s good reputation with the vision of its leadership, the outcome of its dedicated work, and its continuous global efforts to enhance international action and humanitarian response in crisis situations, and to ensure international peace and security, and to consolidate the language of dialogue among the peoples of the world.
“I will do everything in my power to ensure that INTERPOL is maintained as an organization that meets the needs of its member states and the needs of the global community in our fight against crime… After all, we share the same goals and work together for a safer world,” he said.
