Belarusian rescue teams have begun preparing the place where thousands of migrants have gathered on the border with Poland, with special tents to provide food and medical aid, in light of the drop in temperatures in the region.
According to “Novosti” agency, the Belarusian rescuers have transferred generators to the places where tents have been set up, and rescuers are working on preparing the area where the migrants are currently gathering to provide aid to them.
Earlier on Saturday, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko ordered the erection of tents intended to provide food for children and distribute humanitarian aid.
Thousands of migrants from the Middle East and other regions gathered on Belarusian soil in the border area with Poland, which has deployed military and security forces and said it will not allow them to enter its territory and cross it to Europe.
