Russian presidential spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, announced today, Friday, that Russia will fulfill its obligations to supply gas to Europe, noting that there is no room for doubt in this matter.

“No, it has not been done,” Peskov told reporters when asked whether the Belarusian president had discussed with Moscow his statements in which he advised the European Union to think carefully about the transit of gas and trucks through his country before imposing sanctions on Minsk.

Peskov added that “Russia was and will remain the country that fulfills its commitments to supply gas to the European consumer. The reliability of Russia as a supplier and partner according to existing contracts is not in doubt.”

In the same context, the German Economy Ministry responded, today, Friday, that it regrets the statements of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko, regarding the possibility of stopping the transit of gas to Europe.

Yesterday, Thursday, Lukashenko advised the European Union, before imposing sanctions on Minsk, to think about transporting gas and goods through his country.

Lukashenko stated that the main export gas pipeline Yamal-Europe, passes through BelarusAnd that the volume of gas transportation from Russia to the West has increased significantly recently.
