It's quite a task for parents, especially mothers, to get back to daily chores or sneak out of the house for work because their toddler will cry incessantly as soon as they are out of sight.

To tackle the issue, a Japanese couple decided to put up life-size, full-length cardboard cutout of the mother to trick their one-year-old son; and it worked for them.

Fuki Sato and her husband Neji Sato came up with the idea when they noticed their toddler would cry every time his mother left the room, Fox News reported.

"It's hard because my 1-year-old will cry as soon as his mom disappears from sight. As a countermeasure, I experimented with what would happen if I set up a 'life-sized panel mother'," Neji Sato wrote on Twitter, according to translation provided by Fox News.

One cutout shows Fuki standing up while there other is of her seated on the floor, smiling at her son back. Neji Sato filmed how his son is tricked into believing his mother is still in the room because of her cutout.

The footage has been viewed over 2 million times and shows the mother sneaking out of the kitchen while her son is playing in front of the TV. The toddler turns around several times to make sure his mother is there and is relieved when he sees her cutout every time.
