The suspense did not last Saturday in St. Moritz. The organizers canceled the first race on the program even before dawn. The super-G, which was due to leave at 11:30 am, will not take place “because of heavy snowfall and a strong wind”. The decision came five hours before departure. For now, the second competition is maintained on Sunday, despite the fact that the weather conditions do not look better for the next few hours in the Upper Engadine.

Contacted Friday evening, the organizing committee said that in the event of cancellation the competition “would probably not be postponed until Monday”.

In the World Cup, the speed specialists have been technically unemployed since the only event organized in La Thuile (Italy) at the end of February. The pandemic shortened the end of last season. The Swiss Corinne Suter will have to defend the two globes of the descent and the super-G.
