Lidl Silvercrest SFW220 connected watch test: the bare minimum, or even less …

As often, Silvercrest remains discreet about the characteristics presented in the technical sheet. It is therefore difficult to know if a gyroscope or even an accelerometer is integrated into the watch. On the other hand, we can tell you that this SFW220 does not offer GPS and is satisfied with a heart rate monitor.

It is therefore necessary to run with your phone to record a GPS track. In any case, that’s what we would tell you to do if the data collected weren’t so bad. Over a ten kilometer race, the watch only counted a little over 5 km. An extremely high margin of error which prevents any exploitation of the data. We therefore advise you to use a third-party application to evaluate your workouts. Likewise, the number of steps can sometimes turn out to be completely fancy. Thus, during our test, one day ended with 115,000 steps, while the next day climbed to 265,000 steps. To have an idea, this would correspond respectively to 90 and 160 kilometers of walking in one day. As with GPS, we advise you to turn to the pedometer integrated in smartphones, much more precise – and it is not difficult to be in this case.

Finally, like many smartwatches, the SFW220 offers sleep tracking. Rather random, he is fooled by a simple reading in bed. But hard to blame him this time around, few watches manage to be truly precise.

To assess the performance of the SFW220, we compared its results with those of the Polar H10 chest strap, which we consider to be very reliable when it comes to measurements. We measured the running by doing a series of laps on a 1.9 km circuit.
