Mysterious metal pillar found in Romania

Metal monolith discovered in Romania

We show the riddles around the monolith in Utah in the video.

In Utah, unknown people dismantled the monolith

As reported by the Daily Mail, the column, which has a triangular base like the one in Utah, was found on a hill called Batcas Doamnei in Piatra Neamt (Kreuzburg an der Bistritz) in the northeast of the country. It already appeared there on November 26th.

In Utah, local authorities reported that strangers had removed the monolith. “We received reports that a person or group removed it on the evening of November 27th.” So the column in Romania is likely not the same as the one discovered in Utah – unless the person who set it up found a way to travel in time.

The Romanian authorities cannot explain the metal column either. It is completely unclear who erected the pillar there. The object stands on private property, but it would have required approval from the authorities to erect the monolith, because there is an archaeological excavation site very close by. The area is therefore under special protection.

Is there an artist behind the mysterious metal column?

The most likely explanation was that the monolith was made by sculptor John McCracken, who, according to the Guggenheim Museum, made very similar free-standing objects in the form of pyramids, cubes, or polyhedra. McCracken died in 2011 – but his son Patrick told the New York Times that his father had told him back in 2002 that “he would like to put works of art in secluded places so that they can be discovered later.” Has he hired someone to display one of his works of art in Romania? Or is there a completely different explanation?
