Moro becomes director of recovery management at Odebrecht

Former judge and former Minister of Justice Sergio Moro was hired as managing partner of Alvarez & Marsal, an American consultancy, to work in the area of ​​Disputes and Investigations. The announcement was made on Monday (11/30).

According to the company, Moro’s hiring “is in line with A&M’s strategic commitment to develop solutions to the complex issues of disputes and investigations, offering the consultancy’s clients and their own consultants the expertise of a former Brazilian government employee”.

Alvarez & Marsal is a judicial administrator of Odebrecht and financial advisor in the recovery of Sete Brasil, in addition to being hired by Queiroz Galvão to restructure the group. All of these companies have been in a delicate economic situation since they were devastated by the “lava jet”.

Included in Odebrecht’s judicial reorganization is the late payment of remuneration due to 42 whistleblowers of the company, which together charge almost R $ 500 million, according to news in the newspaper Or Balloon.

According to the newspaper Economic value, Moro’s contract includes a clause providing that he does not act in cases that may generate a conflict of interest.
