The stockouts of new consoles are the subject of much discussion and some are taking advantage of the situation. We are not talking about an individual who buys an Xbox Series X or a PS5 to resell it and make up the end of the month in a unitary way, but of a group of profiteers who industrialized all this in order to secure hundreds or even thousands of new consoles to make mass profit.

Buy in bulk and sell at a higher price by encouraging disruption

At CCN, you will make money reselling products that are in high demand with relatively low inventory. For example with the recently released Playstation 5. Demand completely exceeded stock forcing the resale price to skyrocket to £ 700! The suggested retail price for this item is £ 499.

This group is called CrepChiefnotify and recently announced that it is now relocating to the US after making £ 2million in profit in the UK. CrepChiefnotify does not operate in France, Belgium, Switzerland or Canada.

Last week, CrepChiefnotify claimed to have secured 3,500 PS5 consoles then sold more expensive while the Sony machine is out of stock everywhere. How is it possible ? The group simply offers its members to notify them when a very rare product is in stock somewhere. What’s more, it also offers tips for reselling their product for more afterwards, all via a subscription to the service of around € 34 per month.

Bots to help buy Xbox Series X in bulk

This Sunday, CrepChiefnotify claimed to have found over 1,000 Xbox Series X consoles for its members.

We just informed our members of an Xbox Series X restocking at a well-known online retailer.

They have now managed to secure over 1,000 today and there are still many hours left.

First come, first served.

CrepChiefnotify says it does the same with other products and when you look a little more carefully you realize that these are often rare items that are indeed pushed to be bought by their community and then resold for more. There are many pairs of sneakers, such as the Nike Dunk High ‘Turdunken’ for which CCN promises € 55 to € 70 in profits on resale. For an Xbox Series X, CCN promises almost 280 € in profits by selling its console.

Initially, CNN’s bots were developed to focus on the sneaker market, but recent strong demand for the Xbox Series X and PS5 have made their tools evolve. Proud of its “catches”, CNN is very active on social networks to discuss the latest rare products that its members have found buyers, and is absolutely not ashamed of it.

Many players have obviously complained about these questionable practices but CNN does not care. In a statement released a few days ago, the group explained itself.

Many members of our community have been fired, fired or disadvantaged due to the pandemic. These people have managed to cover their bills, fill their fridge and provide Christmas presents for their children. It might be unfortunate that a kid doesn’t wake up with a PS5 on Christmas, but another kid might have woken up with nothing at all.

Tease, CNN even replied “Good news” to an official Playstation tweet that said new PS5 stocks would arrive by the end of the year.

Of course, these practices encourage the price increase because they promote the scarcity of the product.
