An image accompanying a November 16 Facebook post alleges that Dallas Jones, a political analyst and one of Joe Biden’s presidential campaign manager, was arrested for electoral fraud after “collecting thousands of ballots and voting with the identities of people. homeless, elderly and dead ”.

But a reverse search for the photograph in question, which allegedly shows the detention of Dallas Jones, proves that, in fact, the image is of the arrest of American actor Cuba Gooding Jr. in 2019 for sexual assault. The photograph is a screenshot of the video showing the artist being taken by the authorities in New York and published, for example, by site TMZ.

At stake was the meeting between Cuba Gooding Jr., girlfriend Claudine De Niro and a woman in a hotel in June last year. According to this woman, the actor of the series “Empire” will have touched her thighs and breasts without permission, at the moment when she sat between the two members of the couple. The case has given rise to six counts of sexual assault and has nothing to do with electoral fraud in the November 3 elections.

Moreover, there is no indication of any kind of sabotage in the latest polls in the United States. It is the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency itself, founded by Donald Trump in 2018 that, in a statement with other government agencies dedicated to the same subject, confirmed that “There is no evidence that any voting system excluded or lost votes, altered votes or was in any way compromised” and that “the November 3 elections were the safest in American history”.

In fact, there was a petition signed by Republicans in Harris – a Houston, Texas county, where Dallas Jones was a businessman before taking over the political direction of the Democratic campaign – that was trying to prevent the deadline for early voting and places where it could be done. One of the signatories was a former FBI investigator who accused Dallas Jones and three other people of illegally collecting votes in Harris.

The petition was rejected and all allegations that Dallas Jones was detained for crimes of this nature were denied by himself, who, in an interview with The New York Times, commented that those statements were “fabricated, baseless claims” and guaranteed: “I was not arrested”.

Houston Police Department spokesman Jodi Silva told Agence France-Presse that neither Dallas Jones was detained, nor would there be any charges of electoral fraud against him research. Douglas Ray, lawyer for the four defendants in question, also replied to AFP:

“I am not aware that anyone has been arrested or that there is an investigation in addition to the self-appointed ‘investigators’, whose sworn statements have been added to this injunction request (which has been rejected). As far as I’m concerned, these claims are fanciful“.
