The Bcharre region in northern Lebanon witnessed an exodus of some Syrian families, fearing reprisals, after a Lebanese was killed by a Syrian.

The Lebanese army announced, in a tweet on Twitter, that it was conducting foot and mechanized patrols in Bcharre to restore calm to the region after the tension that prevailed in it following the shooting of Joseph Tawq, a Syrian citizen, following an individual problem between them, which led to his death.

The army indicated that the killer had turned himself in to the Internal Security Forces, and investigations into the accident began.

The townspeople were in a state of anger, after a ring was found wounded by a bullet on the road to Al-Arz Bashra.

The people of the region closed the roads and expelled the Syrians from their homes after burning a number of them, in reaction to the crime.
