Quickly, the Catholic media called the representatives of the Holy See to account.

Sources close to the Vatican press office confirmed to the Catholic News Agency that the Pope’s various accounts were obviously not directly managed by Francis. The social networks of the Sovereign Pontiff are managed by a team of employees. And since this unfortunate “like” should never have happened, an investigation was even opened to determine how this could have happened. According to spokesperson for the Vatican press office, who spoke in The Guardian, this incident is not attributed to one of the people who manage the social networks of Pope Francis. “We can rule out that the ‘like’ comes directly from the Holy See, and he turned to Instagram for an explanation,” he assured. Vatican Press Office Director Matteo Bruni added to NBC News: “We are investigating what happened with the help of the relevant Instagram office.” For its part, the social network also wants to shed light on what happened, this problem making “currently under investigation in close contact with the Holy See”.
