CNN presenter Anderson Cooper had to apologize for his comments that President Donald Trump was like an “obese turtle on his back”.

Mr Cooper said what he said after Trump claimed he would take legal action regarding postal voting for the U.S. 2020 election.
“If you count the legal vote, I win easily,” Trump said in an address to the nation. “If you count the illegal votes, they can try to steal our vote.”
CNN anchor Mr. Cooper struck back quickly. The turtle comparison wasn’t even his biggest criticism of Trump.
“It’s sad and really pathetic. Of course it’s dangerous and of course it will go to court, “he told thousands of viewers while they were live on CNN.
“You will find that the President had no evidence at all … No real, actual evidence of any kind of fraud.”
“He was talking about things he’d seen on the internet,” Cooper continued.
“This is the President of the United States, the most powerful in the world, and we see him like an obese turtle on his back spinning in the hot sun and realizing his time is over.
“But he just didn’t accept it and he wants to take everyone with him, including this country.”
The turtle comment soon went viral and appeared in a number of commentaries on Trump.
It was even picked up by The oatmeal, a satirical comic website.
However, many said Cooper’s comment was a blow.
Juliet James attributed an opinion Die Huffington Post about how she was by no means a Trump supporter but was still angry with the comments.
“The problem here is that Trump will likely never see most of these jokes,” she wrote.
“But your fat viewers, your fat friends? You hear it and many of them care very much. ”
She is not alone.
Cooper has since apologized for the comments in a statement today.
“By the way, I should say I regret using those words because that’s not the person I really want to be,” Cooper said. “It was in the moment and I regret it.”
Many others continued to support the inflammatory description.
