Two die in a plane crash
Two people were killed in a plane crash in the central west of the state.
Police said emergency services received reports Wednesday evening that a light aircraft crashed after leaving Orange regional airport.
The two people on board, presumably a man and a woman, died on the scene.
The Chifley Police District is investigating.

Unions say hundreds of aviation workers are relieved to return to work following the airlines’ decision to reopen domestic flights to Victoria.

Elderly man injured in the break-in in Ermington
An 88-year-old man and a 54-year-old woman were slapped in the face by an intruder in Ermington, northwest Sydney.
The man was asleep when he heard a noise in his room. He was slapped several times in the face before the woman entered.
She was also slapped in the face and knocked unconscious before the intruder escaped from the house.
The two were taken to Ryde Hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries.
Man tried for alleged kidnapping
A man is due to appear in court today on a suspected kidnapping in Sydney’s North Shore.
Police claim a 22-year-old man was threatened by a 57-year-old man he knew in a parking lot in Cremorne on Sunday.
The younger man was allegedly threatened with a gun.
The 57-year-old was charged with criminal offenses yesterday, including detaining a person and owning a firearm.
He will appear in the Liverpool Local Court today.
