SCRANTON, PENNSYLVANIA (VG) Some say they will accept a Biden victory. Others only if it has happened in a fair way, something they do not trust can happen. Then you have those who think it ends in civil war.

Less than 10 minutes ago

The day before, there are divided opinions among Trump supporters who have taken the trip to one of Trump’s most recent election rallies, in the extremely important swing state of Pennsylvania.

It’s this and three until later Monday local time. On Tuesday, everything will hopefully be decided, but not everyone trusts that it will happen in a fair way.

Several of the VG meet at the airport outside the city of Scranton, best known for being the birthplace of Donald Trump’s opponent in this election, Joe Biden, and for being the city where the fictional company Dunder Mifflin in the American version of the TV series «The Office “Has been persuaded by Trump’s false claims that postal votes lead to significant electoral fraud.

This is what the measurements in Pennsylvania look like now:

Victory-proof

There is no evidence that such a claim is true. On the contrary.

Nevertheless, the president continued his mantra in his speech during the election meeting in Pennsylvania, where the courts have accepted that postal votes that arrive up to and including Friday this week will count if they are postmarked no later than tomorrow, on election day.

Trump does not like the idea that a result in the state here can take days before is clear because it will take time to count advance votes. He has already threatened lawyers.

– They have facilitated a dangerous situation. And then I mean physically dangerous, Trump said, even wearing the distinctive red MAGA hat, to the audience in Scranton.

He also had a message for Pennsylvania Democratic Governor Tom Wolf:

– Please do not cheat governor. We follow. We have our eyes on the governor and his friends, continued the president, who claimed that there was going to be so much cheating that he had to get at least five percent more votes than Biden to be able to win.

PRESIDENT: Donald Trump held a well-over-hour election rally in Scranton, Pennsylvania the day before the election.

In a couple of three plus degrees and biting winds, thousands of Trump voters stood in thick jackets, hats and scarves. As at all his election rallies, he was received as a rock star when he entered scenes. A cool autumn day does not stop eager supporters from showing their enthusiasm, even though some of them rightly went home before the president, who himself mentioned how cold it felt, finished his speech.

“WE LOVE YOU, WE LOVE YOU, WE LOVE YOU” they shouted in time, while the president replied that if they continued he could start crying.

– Maybe it’s good. Maybe I can get ten percent more votes then, Trump joked, before adding that he does not want to be seen crying.

In any case, his supporters are as sure of victory as it is possible to become.

– Of course Trump wins. Look at the crowd and the enthusiasm here. This love for the country is contagious. “Sleepy Joe” could never have achieved such a thing, says Gerard Barral (54), who is from the neighboring city of Dallas.

He is one of those who will be skeptical if Biden wins.

– I do not trust the postal votes, but if Biden wins legitimately, I will of course accept it.

Civil war

20-year-old Raffi Feld, who has driven all the way from Connecticut to be here, also expresses that he does not know if he can trust a possible Biden victory.

– But if it happens in an honest way, I will accept it.

Two who in no way believe a Biden victory can honestly happen are Jamie Sala (44) and Angela Pace (47), who have taken the trip from Long Island outside New York.

They support Trump in thick and thin: – He’s an honest person

SURE OF WIN: Raffi Feld says he can not imagine anything other than a Trump victory. Photo: Thomas Nilsson / VG

– I am absolutely sure that he will win, but if it does not happen then it is because it has been cheated with these postal votes. Then Trump must take this to court. Especially here in Pennsylvania, I think it can be a problem because you have to count votes that come in after election day. I do not trust that the Democrat will not suddenly “find” more votes to secure a victory for Biden, says Sala, and adds:

– Then I think this will end in civil war. If it is proven that they have cheated, the uprising comes.

The friend agrees:

– People will not accept it. We are a free America.

– Should you participate in that case?

– No comment, says Sala.

Chaos and divisions: This can happen after the US election

Wish him luck

Jonas Crass, who has a bandage with the text “Biden is a bum” on it, is no less an avid supporter and has no less faith in a saying.

– Trump! Trump! This is absolutely incredible, he shouts when VG asks to ask some questions.

– This is my first election meeting with Trump. I’m very excited now. We love the best president this country has ever had. Trump is going to blow Biden off the field. Biden does not have a chance.

Despite those words, Crass is still the only one who does not say that he does not know if he can trust the result if Biden actually beats his husband.

– If that happens, I will wish him luck, and I hope in that case he will have the best in the country in his heart.

Unique documentary series: Look from the inside of the election campaign

It is no coincidence that Donald Trump is coming to Pennsylvania the day before the election. Joe Biden has also campaigned here today. The state can be decisive for which of them will rule from the White House from 20 January next year.

At the election meeting in Scranton, the incumbent president, who seemed less energetic than he has done earlier in the long election campaign, did what he could to incite his voters and make sure those who have not already voted do so tomorrow.

“You have had the best three years ever now, and next year will be even better,” Trump told supporters, warning against Biden.

– He’s going to ruin Pennsylvania.

It was a fear many of the supporters here today clearly shared.

Whether that is the case for the majority of Pennsylvania voters, however, remains to be seen.

Maybe we have the answer to that tomorrow night US time.

Maybe we should wait longer.
