A prominent royal commentator has said that Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II will step down and assume the throne to Prince Charles when she is 95 years old, according to the Daily Mail.
Royal commentator Robert Jobson spoke exclusively to “The Royal House” and said that Diana, Princess of Wales, believed she was “stronger than the Queen” in the lead up to the 1995 BBC interview.
He also describes Prince Harry’s recent comments about racial prejudice as “naked hypocrisy.”
“I still firmly believe that the Queen will step down when she is 95 years old,” the royal biographer explained.
In turn, Newsweek correspondent Jack Royston said, “I think she will not want that, but realistically, she will reach a point where she hands everything over to Charles, then how do you not tell him then that he will be king?”
Jobson’s comments come before the 25th anniversary of Diana’s famous 1995 interview with BBC Panorama.
“At that time, with the announcement of the separation of Prince Charles and Diana, the latter was on her way to get everything she wanted,” he said.
He continued, “I think she thought she was stronger than the Queen, so matters with Queen Elizabeth came to an end.”
Following up on Harry’s comments on the subject of his unconscious bias this week, Jobson said: “I find that hypocrisy coming out of Harry and his wife, Megan Markle.”
Jobson also continued to discuss recent reports about Prince Andrew’s possible return to his royal duties.
“He cannot go back,” he said. He must be cleared by the FBI before that.
Jobson noted that Prince Philip has an active role in all of the Queen’s big decisions regarding media coverage of the royal family.
