Deb Frecklington and the National Liberal Party may have lost their attempt at government, but the biggest losers in the Queensland elections are Pauline Hanson and One Nation.

The party’s national vote has collapsed by as much as six percent compared to the current situation, and there have been significant losses on the key seats it was hoping to win.

This disastrous representation is a factor in the outcome of the LNP, which otherwise would have benefited from a flow of One Nation’s preferences.

However, James Ashby, Senator Hanson’s chief of staff and political strategist, denied the outcome was a disaster in a bizarre and lengthy interview with ABC News.

“Well, I actually think we had zero net income,” said Ms. Ashby.

One nation’s goal has been to keep Stephen Andrew at Mirani’s central Queensland headquarters, which he will comfortably hold, Ashby pointed out.

But during his live interview with ABC, he wore an orange campaign t-shirt for Wade Rothery, the party’s candidate at Keppel’s headquarters.

Mr. Ashby blamed Annastacia Palaszczuk’s “fear game” during the election campaign for the poor performance of One Nation, referring to the coronavirus pandemic.

“Labor played this card to the end. Fears COVID, and I also think that the Liberal National Party in this state has certainly not proposed a very good alternative government. ”

He also said cuts to regional media were affecting candidate and Senator Hanson’s ability to get their messages across.

“I also think something that has to be identified here too, we have lost (the) media in every single regional market in this state. And I can’t tell you how much local media has just evaporated from these markets.

“Rockhampton, Gladstone, Mackay, they all lost their papers. So folks – the only news they had is from Brisbane and that was just a massive fear campaign. ”

Mr Ashby also attacked the ABC and said, “And you down there, you suck it up, the ABC is pretty fat down there in Brisbane. We have nothing in the regions. ”

It was pointed out that the ABC has the same resources as in the previous Queensland election.

At that point, Mr Ashby broached a bizarre matter about the consequences of another term for Labor and Mrs Palaszczuk.

“The bush is missing,” he began.

“That’s exactly what is going on. The bush is missing and I tell you what worse they will miss under this government of Palaszczuk and it will be the farmers who will suffer and you down in the southeast corner will suffer the most because your fruit and vegetable prices will be through go up the roof.

“We get stung considerably.

“The fishermen out there are being absolutely raped and looted and I’ll tell you what, it will be Labor’s fault. You see it’s coming. You have four years to suffer this. ”
