Simone is from Salvador (BA) and was in France for 30 years. She worked as a caregiver for the elderly and had three children. According to RFI radio, one of the victim’s cousins said she was wounded with a knife and died in a restaurant near the cathedral. She said her last words were: “Tell my children that I love them”.
The owner of the restaurant where Simone was taken, Brahim Jelloule, told France Info TV that he saw her bloodied and that together with a brother placed her inside the restaurant, but she could not resist her injuries and died an hour and a half after the attack.
Brahim said that Simone warned them that there was an armed man in the church. Upon arriving at the scene, the suspect threatened them and they managed to escape and call the police.
