Kate Winslet (45) came up with something very special for the birthday of her colleague Saoirse Ronan (26). The two actresses shot an intimate love scene to celebrate the special day.

Kate told Entertainment Weekly: “I wanted to give her a great memory of this film. To be naked on your birthday like the day you were born, that’s something special. I knew it would be an unforgettable experience. ” That’s why she convinced director Francis Lee (51) to shoot the special scene on this date.

In “Ammonite” Winslet plays the paleontologist Mary Anning (1799–1847), who falls in love with the melancholy Charlotte (Saoirse Ronan) in Victorian England.

The Titanic actress recently said she had never felt more comfortable naked in front of the camera than with her Irish co-star. Winslet: “Saoirse and I coordinated the scene ourselves. I just think Saoirse and I felt really safe. Francis was of course very nervous. But I said to him, ‘Listen, let’s work this out.’ And we did. ‘We start here, kiss, then to the bosom, you go down here, then you do that, then you climb up here.’ We clarified the rhythm of the scene so that we could hold on to something. ”

Never in her acting career has she been as proud of a love scene as in “Ammonite”. The film is slated to hit Swiss cinemas on January 28, 2021. (klm)
