Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner understandably think little of the giant advertising posters. Lawyer Marc Kasowitz represents the couple and on Friday sent a letter to the Lincoln Project, reproduced by, among others, Reuters.
The lawyer describes the advertisement as “false, malicious and defamatory”. The lawyer further claims that the poster is a “hair-raising and shameful libel”.
– If these posters are not removed immediately, we will sue you for what will undoubtedly be a huge amount of compensation, the letter states.
Can not be intimidated
The Lincoln Project apparently takes the threat calmly, describing it all as “crazy!”.
In a longer statement, the group says that the advertising posters will remain, and once again reaches out to the president’s daughter and son-in-law.
“Jared and Ivanka have always been privileged thugs who have never given the slightest indication that they care about the American people,” the Lincoln Project states.
The group includes George W. Bush and John McCain’s former advisers, and are Trump’s most vocal opponents from within his own party. In addition to giving his support to Democrat Joe Biden, the Lincoln Project has published a bunch of commercials that paint Trump in an unfortunate light.
