The killer’s many women

The convicted murderer Peter Madsen (50) is making headlines again after he escaped from Herstedvester prison outside Copenhagen earlier this week. He has been here for a year, after serving time in two other prisons.

He also gets attention in connection with the Danish crime drama “The Investigation”. Here, however, neither the killer nor the murdered Kim Wall is portrayed, but the series deals with the work of the police and the parents’ grief.

The documentary series “The secret recordings with Peter Madsen” has also led to new interest in the case as more new information has emerged. Among other things, the 50-year-old admits for the first time that he took the life of the freelance journalist.

Here is also Erica Perkins, a woman who has recorded porn movies with Peter Madsen. She claims that she was forced to participate, in order to get money to get home to Malaysia.

However, she is just one of the many women who have been involved with the inventor.

Was married during the murder

When Madsen committed the murder of Kim Wall, however, he was married. The ex-wife, whom he married in 2011, is not named in the press, and has never appeared. It became known in February 2018 via Danish BT that she had left him.

Madsen has explained in court that the two had an open relationship, and that this was the reason why he had other sex partners than his wife.

This means that Madsen was married when he began his relationship with Malaysian Perkins.

Madsen lived out his open relationship, among other things by having sex with other women on the submarine Nautilus, which in 2017 became known as a murder scene.

The 17-year-old was obsessed

But it was not just before the murder that Madsen had more women in his life. In prison, he exchanged letters with several people, including the then 17-year-old Cammilla Kürstein. Through letters and telephone conversations over two years, they developed a relationship, and Kürstein himself has described himself as obsessed.

– I could not see my friends because I was going to spend time writing letters to him. It filled everything in my head. I became completely obsessed, sick and weird, and I went crazy if my father tried to touch the letters, and I checked the mailbox constantly, she has told Danske Radio.

Kürstein, who is now 20 years old, has also made the documentary series “In love with a murderer”.

What she did not know, however, was that Madsen had several women from the prison cell. It has previously been known that when he was imprisoned in Storstrøm Prison, he was visited by four different women.

Relationship with prison officer

In August last year, it also became known that Madsen had initiated a relationship with a prison officer in Vestre Prison.

However, the flirtation did not become known until the inventor was moved to Herstedvæster Prison, as a result of an assault committed by a fellow prisoner.

After Madsen was transferred to the prison from which he escaped this week, the management of the prison discovered an extensive exchange of letters between Madsen and the prison officer.

– It’s wrong, of course. It’s not something you should do, but we did it anyway. There is nothing more to say about it. I do not know if it develops into anything more. I can not know with 100 percent certainty, she told Ekstra Bladet at the time.

The woman in her 40s has two sons, and quit her job to find out the relationship with the man convicted of murder. However, the relationship was revealed before the notice period was over, and she had to leave work on the day.

Married in prison

Madsen’s love drama does not end there, however. At the beginning of 2020, it became clear that Madsen was again a married man. He even announced on Facebook that he had married Russian Jenny Curpen (40) on December 19 last year.

The two got married in prison during a two-hour meeting.

Curpen describes himself primarily as an artist. Two years ago, she started the art project “This is not the Peter we knew” which was about the reactions of those around her after the murder of Kim Wall.

Dagbladet has been in contact with her in connection with the escape attempt. She does not want to comment on the case.

It was in the autumn of 2018 that she made personal contact with Peter Madsen, and they developed a relationship.

– I love and respect my husband. I’m proud of him and 49 years of his life, except for the one day that will forever remain a tragedy. My husband committed a heinous crime and was punished for it, she said earlier this year.

Curpen is originally from Moscow, but now lives in the Finnish city of Salo, where she was granted political asylum, after leaving her home country in 2012.
