The “cowardly” man who hit an elderly pedestrian in Ballincollig “will be caught and should face full justice”.

Gardai is investigating after the sick street race that happened on Thursday around 3:30 p.m. behind the Castlwest Shopping Center.

A man from his 70s was viciously beaten and left on the street for dead before being taken to CUH.

Fortunately, his injuries are not life threatening, but the news of the pointless attack enraged the locals.

A video that people are not supposed to share showed the man being beaten several times before being thrown into the street and left there.

A distraught woman watched as the assailant went back to his car and left the scene.

The argument is believed to have erupted after a motorist allegedly failed to stop at a pedestrian crossing.
