“On October 22nd, 2020 at around 3:45 am, Gardaí discovered the body of a woman on Lower Road, Strawberry Beds, according to reports from a pedestrian who had acted suspiciously at the M50 bridge (toll booth).

“After this incident, Gardaí went to a house in Lucan where a 7 month old boy was found in an unresponsive state. A short time later he was pronounced dead at the scene.

“An incident room was set up in the Lucan Garda Station and a technical investigation of the scene was carried out. The coroner and the state pathologist’s office were notified.

“The child’s body was taken to Crumlin Hospital and the woman’s body was taken to the city morgue for autopsies.

“The results of the autopsies will determine the course of the examinations on Lake Garda.

“At present, the Gardaí investigation is treating these incidents as a family tragedy and is currently not looking for anyone related to the deaths.

“No further information is currently available. The investigations are ongoing. ”
