In the minutes before Jamie Lee Dolheguy wrapped the string of a sex toy around the neck of the man she had just met, she made a startling confession.

“I think I’m a psychopath,” she said to Maulin Rathod, who she met on the dating app Plenty of Fish.

Tragically, the disclosure of his date went unnoticed for the 24-year-old victim studying in Australia.

Instead, he agreed to fulfill a fantasy the young woman told him she had hosted a choke game that would ultimately cost him his life.

“I got closer and closer, then I whispered in his ear that it was okay,” Dolheguy later told the investigators.

Dolheguy, who turned 21 in prison a few days ago, was sentenced to nine years in prison in the Victoria Supreme Court after found guilty of manslaughter.

In time, she could be eligible for parole in just over three years.

The defendant had a “profound personality disorder”.

Judge Peter Almond said it was clear that Dolheguy’s crimes had some degree of “premeditation.”

“You chose the act of violence that was ultimately committed in advance. You got him involved in the pretense of a game, ”said the judge.

“You took the life of a young person who did nothing to hurt or provoke you.

The court heard that Dolheguy had a “pervasive personality disorder” and was a survivor of “extreme abuse and neglect”.

But Justice Almond said that while she knew what she was doing was wrong, her moral guilt due to mental illness was “significantly reduced”.

“As a result, your sentence needs to be moderated significantly,” he said.

“I knew I would kill him”

In July 2018, Dolheguy invited Mr Rathod to her home in Sunbury, northwest of Melbourne, after the two bonded with Plenty of Fish.

But Mr. Rathod was not supposed to know that the woman he was attracted to had an urge to kill.

Little did he know that in the hours before his death, she had searched Google for “I’m going to kill someone for fun tonight” and “10 steps to commit murder and get away with it”.

When investigators later asked her why she invited Mr. Rathod, Dolheguy was open.

“Murder,” she said.

“I knew I would kill him if he came over.”

After Dohleguy had choked Mr. Rathod from behind until he was a “blackhead”, he grabbed the string of her sex toy and wrapped it around his neck.

“I told him I was sorry and just strangled him with a string,” she said.
