Addicted to ordering food by application, Briton Jason Holton, 30, was rescued from his apartment on the third floor of a building with the help of a crane. In an interview with The Sun newspaper, the man, who weighs 300 kg and had not been out of the house for more than five years, explained that he started eating until he could no longer move properly.

“I let myself die and waited for my heart to give up. I felt like there was nothing else in life for me, ”said Jason. However, he ended up calling the rescue team to take him to a hospital. The operation involved about 30 firefighters and lasted almost 7 hours.

“It was incredible because it was the first time in six years that I experienced fresh air. I received codeine to take the pain out of the crane’s straps [do guindaste], but I only remember the breath of fresh air and the breeze blowing in my body ”, said the young man.

“There was a risk that I might not survive. There were problems with my oxygen levels, but I told my rescuers to go ahead – or else I would end up dying inside my apartment, ”he said.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment of lymphedema in the groin and legs – a chronic disease that causes water retention and swelling.

Jason became the fattest man in Britain after the death of Carl Thompson, 33, in 2015. Jason survives on government benefits and has never worked.

According to the young man, anxiety, aggravated by his weight, made it impossible to apply for a job. “I was never able to work. It is difficult in my state. There was a time when I was going to sign up for some weekend stuff, but I decided not to do it because I knew, deep down, that my mental and physical health wouldn’t allow it. I was very nervous and left, ”he explained.
