Irish Super Spreader infected 56 people

A report by the Midwestern Department of Health came to the shocking finding that one man, a Covid-19 super-spreader, infected another 56 people with the potentially deadly virus.

The man was vacationing outside of the country but failed to adhere to HSE quarantine guidelines for 14 days after returning, despite having some known Covid-19 symptoms.

The Ministry of Health report said, “He had mild symptoms such as a runny nose and a slight sore throat. He checked his temperature and it was normal. He felt reassured by this and made contact with a group of friends. ”

The man had already passed the virus on to a large number of friends when he tested the positive himself. Some of these friends infected their own families. A friend of the man’s, who had some symptoms, arranged a Covid-19 test with her family doctor. In anticipation of the test results, however, instead of following the HSE guidelines for self-isolation, the woman decided to attend a party because she “felt a little better”. After the party, she received a positive result. However, by that time it had infected a number of party participants.

“By attending the party and waiting for her test result, she infected a number of other people. The index has a close extended family who visit each other regularly. This resulted in some extended family members also becoming infected with COVID-19. One of his extended family members who had no symptoms was playing a match with his local team and some of his teammates were infected as a result. The team members then infected a number of people, ”the report said.

The total number of people infected, including family, friends and members of a sports team, was 56.

The case shows that failure to comply with public health advice and regulations can lead to the uncontrolled spread of virus.
