Review of Junior Masterchef 2020: I can’t stop crying.
It’s 2020 and it’s at the top of the list of things I didn’t expect this year – okay, perhaps First place goes to the pandemic – was that I would become a fan of Junior MasterChef.

To put it kindly, I don’t love Children. I don’t understand. You are small and make stupid comments and I have very little patience.

Which goes with my next point. Cooking is also not a favorite activity of mine (see: Comment on patience), and cleaning up? Just not for me.

Watch the trailer for Junior Masterchef. The post continues below.

That’s why I never gave myself up Master chef before and why – despite all the enthusiasm of my employees – I didn’t want to start now.

But last Sunday T.The project came to an end and I was already binge watching Emily in Parisso I allowed Junior MasterChef run in the background for a few minutes.

But it wasn’t just running in the background …

The 14 best young chefs in the country came and within minutes I was crying over these little magicians whose parents Just. Must. Be. In order to. Proud.

And can we talk about Judges Melissa Leong, Jock Zonfrillo and Andy Allen? Simply divine.

At the beginning the 10 to 14 year olds were asked to prepare their signature court for the judges.

Easy enough to start.

My signature dish is minced meat and a glass of Bolognese pasta sauce tossed on top of Barilla spaghetti number 3, which I cook al dente in just five minutes (but usually four because I leave my kitchen until the last minute and get one ‘ lil hangry).

Typical dishes of our MasterChefs, however, included lobster mornings (which a 12-year-old apparently eats several times a week?), Spiced chocolate tart with cardamom-ginger ice cream (I don’t know at least one of the ingredients) and pumpkin-ricotta tortellini with roasted butter Sage sauce.

Oh. And what I would pay an absurd amount of money for.
