Sharjah 24:The Sharjah Consultative Council, in its second session held on Thursday, corresponding to the fifteenth, approved its recommendations regarding the discussion of the policy of the Sharjah Documentation and Archives Authority, as part of its work for the second ordinary session of the tenth legislative session.

The proceedings of the session began after all precautions, public safety precautions and physical distancing were taken and all instructions issued by the competent authorities to curb the Coronavirus were applied, with a speech delivered by His Excellency Ali Mehd Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Advisory Board, in which he congratulated the Council on the renewal of the International Standard for Quality Management System ISO 9001: 2015, saying I am pleased to extend my congratulations and heartfelt congratulations to ourselves first and to the advisory board – with all its members and all its departments and divisions.

Secondly, on the occasion of the Council passing the audit stage to renew the certificate of the International Standard for Quality Management System ISO 9001: 2015 CE, as the first parliamentary body in the Arab world, which the Council obtained in 2017, by achieving its validity requirements for the next three years, God willing.

We also wish our advisory council more achievements and initiatives that achieve leadership and distinction in various fields of parliamentary work.

Then, according to the meeting’s agenda, the council discussed its draft recommendations regarding discussing the policy of the Sharjah Documentation and Archives Authority received from the committee preparing the draft recommendations.

His Excellency Muhammad Ali Al Naqbi, the reporter of the committee, went up to the podium and recited the draft recommendations and said during the recitation of the draft recommendations: The Advisory Council of the Emirate of Sharjah had discussed in its sixth session in the morning of Thursday the twenty-sixth of the month of Jumada al-Akhira 1441 AH, corresponding to the twentieth of February of 2020 AD within its work The first ordinary session of the tenth legislative session is the policy of the Sharjah Documentation and Archives Authority, in the presence of His Excellency / Salah Salem Al Mahmoud, Director General of the Authority, and his assistants, who kindly explained the achievements of the Authority in communicating with government agencies in collecting the assets of the public and private archives by applying best practices to preserve the memory of Sharjah.

The director general of the authority presented a comprehensive report in which he reviewed the achievements since the establishment of the authority in 2010 and over a period of ten years, in addition to the challenges that the authority faced in achieving its goals and the level of achievements in collecting more than 6 million documents and a unified organization of archiving and documentation for 27 out of 95 government agencies .

Al Naqbi continued, and with reading the achievements report submitted by the authority, we see that the ambition is still great, especially as the pace of work is not accelerated to complete the documentation and archiving of all departmental documents in the Emirate of Sharjah, and here lies the importance of balanced work between archiving and documentation, as archiving is one of the main pillars for the advancement of government work.

The members of the Council discussed the articles of recommendations and, in conclusion, approved their recommendations regarding the discussion of the Sharjah Documentation and Archives Authority policy.

His Excellency Ali Mayhad Al-Suwaidi, Chairman of the Council, addressed a word of thanks, saying: “On your behalf all of you, I extend my sincere thanks and appreciation to His Excellency Dr. Abdullah Ibrahim Al-Darmaki, Chairman of the Committee for Preparing the Draft Recommendations, as well as many thanks to His Excellency Brother Muhammad Ali Al-Naqbi, the Committee’s Rapporteur, and thanks are extended to the brothers and sisters members of the Council and to everyone Contribute and share his observations and opinions.
