All of a sudden, Jodie pulled a face at the camera as she was sitting in front of a large plate of food in a kitchen area wearing a dark gray T-shirt and matching sweatpants.

Alongside the post, she wrote: “Such mixed feelings… Ecstatic to have finished this film under the circumstances, but also sad to say goodbye to the most wonderful people.

‘A lot of them aren’t pictured here, but these 3 were trouble, the best kind! Many thanks to the entire cast and crew. THE LAST DUEL ❤️ ‚.

Jodie plays Marguerite de Carrouges, the woman at the center of the fight in the Ridley Scott-directed epic.

The final duel marks the first return of Damon’s writing partnership with Ben Affleck since her award-winning screenplay for Good Will Hunting.

Matt co-wrote the script with Nicole Holofcener and longtime writing partner Ben. The latter also starred in the film, although he was not seen on the set.

Matt and Ben were originally supposed to play the two main roles in the film, but because of Ben’s film Deep Water, they got into planning conflicts that he should now play King Charles VI, while Adam Driver should play the role of Le Gris.

Filming for the film began in France in February, but the set closed in March due to the pandemic and travel restrictions in Europe.

Matt was next in Ireland when the lockdown began, isolating the travel ban with his wife and four children for a few weeks in the seaside resort of Dalkey, an affluent suburb of Dublin.

The last duel had a planned release date in December 2020, but has now been postponed to October 15, 2021.
