iPhone 12, 12 Mini, 12 Pro, and 12 Pro Max –...

APPLE’s new iPhones can be pre-ordered tomorrow (some of them) – but which one is right for you?

The phones come in a variety of sizes and range from cheap and cheerful to breathtakingly expensive.

Overall, new iPhones were announced on Tuesday (from left to right): the iPhone 12 Pro Max, the iPhone 12 Pro, the iPhone 12 and the iPhone MiniCredit: apple / the sun

iPhone 12 – What is it?

The iPhones 12 series is Apple’s latest and greatest smartphone and the first US tech titan with 5G connectivity.

They were revealed during a virtual event on October 13th recorded from Apple’s space age headquarters in Cupertino, California.

Apple CEO Tim Cook said: “Today is the day of a new era for the iPhone. We’re bringing 5G to the iPhone. ”

In total, Apple announced four new phones with a range of specifications and sizes.

iPhone 12 screen sizes

The new iPhones are: the iPhone 12, the iPhone 12 Pro, the iPhone 12 Pro Max and the iPhone Mini.

As the name suggests, the 12 Pro Max is the largest of the lot, measuring 6.7 inches diagonally across the screen.

This makes it the largest phone Apple has ever made, outperforming the 6.5-inch display on the iPhone 11 Pro Max from last year.

Further down the pecking order, the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro are each 6.1 inches.

Although they are the same size, the phones differ in their relative specifications. The more expensive 12 Pro, for example, has an additional camera on the back.

Last but not least, the iPhone Mini is (not surprisingly) the smallest of the whole range and only reaches a meager 5.4 inches.

This makes it one of the smallest iPhones Apple has made since the iPhone 8 in 2017, and one of the smallest 5G phones ever built.

Aside from size, price of any Series 12 device is one of the key factors separating them from one another.

iPhone 12 Series – Which One Is Right For You?

With so many new iPhones, it can be a little difficult to decide which one is best for you.

One of the big factors (no pun intended) is relative size.

If you’re a fan of massive phones – like the Samsung Galaxy Note series – then the iPhone 12 Pro Max is a no-brainer.

However, if you’ve never used a large phone before, we recommend sticking with the smaller models.

Larger phones can be a little unwieldy, make your bags look like you’ve just stolen a pick and mix, and can be difficult to use with one hand.

The Pro models are also for you if you only want to use top-notch devices with cutting-edge features – essentially the best of the best.

If price is your determining factor, the iPhone Mini is a great choice.

It’s one of the cheapest phones to buy with 5G connectivity and features the super-fast new A14 chip, just like the more expensive Pro models.

The only downside to this choice is the phone’s small size, which obviously isn’t for everyone.

If you’d rather sit in the middle and do something, the iPhone 12 is probably your best bet.

It has all of the features of the 12 Pro (aside from an extra camera) and is an absolute steal at £ 200 less than its similarly sized counterpart.

I would expect most consumers to choose the 12 when pre-orders open on Friday.
