The organizers of the Free Cuba Fest reject having hired PMM

The organizers of the Free Cuba Fest 2020, held at the Miami Marine Stadium on October 10, announced that they never hired the services of the PMM company for the event.

In a clarifying note published on their Facebook page, the organizers explained that in a Telemundo report, a van with PMM’s image appeared at the bottom of the image during the preparation of the festival.

“The company that was actually hired, Limitless Production Service INC, was the one that on its own, rented a van from PMM to bring a generator to the place, where it only stayed for about 10 minutes, and which we assure we had not seen at any time”, they stressed.

“Free Cuba Fest and Umbrella art Foundation would never contract the services of a company that maintains relations with the Cuban dictatorship,” they added.

Diddier Santos Moleiro, general producer of the Free Cuba Fest, recalled that the PMM company supported the robbery of the Rotilla festival in Cuba in 2011, an event that Santos had also produced.

“The organizers of the Free Cuba Fest warn that this incident is a trap in collusion with the Castro dictatorship, to try to tarnish the image of the first anti-communist festival,” the post concluded.

The creators of this festival, among whom are artists, influencers, businessmen and human rights activists, have assured that their main objective is to promote the artistic and cultural movement of Miami, based on a political change in Cuba.

“Promoted by the Miami community, it intends to convey a message of support and commitment to all Cubans who suffer from the dictatorship through art. Serve as a platform for expression and awareness where artists and influencers are the ones who carry the message of the FREE CUBA FEST to every corner of the world ”, they affirmed when promoting the meeting.

In this edition they participated Gente de Zona, Chocolate MC and Amaury Gutiérrez. The presence of Willy Chirino was also expected, who finally could not attend.

“This October 10 we are celebrating 152 years of the cry of Yara by Carlos Manuel de Céspedes,” said the salsero on social networks.

In addition to the aforementioned artists, for the first time the participation of several influencers was programmed to interact with both the public and the artists.

The event served as a platform to denounce the shortage that has worsened in Cuba after the arrival of the coronavirus pandemic, the increase in repression of opponents and the general population, and the situation of political prisoners.

But undoubtedly the most relevant of this edition of the contest has been the performance of Gente de Zona, whose members, Alexander Delgado and Randy Malcom, separated forever from the Castro regime with a strong message calling for freedom for Cubans.

“I am going to tell you three things. The first is that I am super happy to be here with you. The second is that it is never too late when it comes to Cuba, the country in which one was born. The third is to ask for Freedom for Cuba, ”said Alexander after performing the popular song La gozadera.

“And remember one thing: Together we are more,” added Randy Malcom.

“Down with the dictatorship,” Alexander shouted before leaving the stage.
