I said in a previous article (Al-Akhbar, September 14) that the Secretary-General of the “Palestinian Islamic Jihad” movement, Ziyad Al-Nakhalah, will confuse the stereotypical Palestinian discourse that is steeped in rounding the corners and blurring words and constructive formulations in political statements. The man does not originally believe in this media “sharing”, and considers it a “lie” that does not solve a problem or cure a crisis, and “a lie” for the Palestinian people, who do not liberate their land except with the truth alone. Those who followed the speech delivered by Al-Nakhalah, on the sixth of this month, on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of the jihadist start of the movement, will realize how frank, clear and transparent it was in all of his positions, especially with regard to the meeting of the secretaries-general. Quite clearly, the Secretary-General of Al-Jihad disclosed the motive behind his participation in the meeting of secretaries-general that took place on the third of last September between Ramallah and Beirut, in an indirect response to the interpretations that dealt with his participation in that meeting in a glimpse and sometimes a joke and a statement in some cases Other. He said: “We participated in this meeting in our belief in the necessity of the unity of our people, and the necessity of the unity of the Palestinian position, in the face of what aims to liquidate the Palestinian cause in the interest of the Zionist project.” Then he defined the foundations and starting points, and you can say the conditions on which the movement made a decision to participate and continue in it, and it is in his own language: “Withdrawing recognition of the Zionist entity, rebuilding the Palestine Liberation Organization, to become the national framework that represents all the forces of the Palestinian people, and declaring that the stage in which our people are living It is still a stage of national liberation, and the priority is resistance, ending the status quo, and achieving national unity on the basis of a national program based on resistance in all its forms. In a veiled response to the decisions of Turkey’s meeting between “Fatah” and “Hamas”, he said: “We place in our dialogues the priority of formulating a clear and resistant national program, and we have no priority for anything else. The Palestinian forces, by virtue of their size, cannot take us to a program whose limits we do not know, and we do not know to what extent it can continue in a position of confrontation with the Zionist project. ”Al-Nakhalah bases his position on a set of facts that he has always referred to on many occasions, and confirmed in his launch speech this year, the most important of which is that the occupied West Bank is the core of the Zionist project in Palestine, and that the pursuit of a settlement with this entity is running after a mirage that has proven its failure throughout the past quarter century And all the facts indicate that it is impossible, that no one has offered the Palestinian people any settlement projects, and that the only project that was offered to him is the “Deal of the Century” that aims to liquidate the Palestinian cause and eliminate the Palestinian people. Nevertheless, he affirmed that the movement would continue to attend the meeting of secretaries-general, without this means giving up any of its constants and stances, but only because of its belief that “national unity is the safety valve for our cause,” and that “true unity is based on the conviction that the Zionist project must be confronted with all. Ways and means available ». Al-Nakhalah did not wait for the next meeting of the General Secretaries to determine the position of his movement on the issue of the elections that were discussed in the Turkey meetings. He clearly stated that “Islamic Jihad” is ready to participate in the Palestinian National Council elections “on the condition that these elections are separated from the Legislative Council elections.” Regarding the elections of the latter, he said clearly: “A legislative assembly recognizes the enemy, and according to the Oslo Accords, we will not be part of it or participate in it.” The conclusion here is that the “Jihad” affirms its adherence to its firm stance of a complete break with “Oslo” and all its secretions. The movement has no problem with participating in the “Liberation Organization” after withdrawing its recognition of the Zionist entity, and there is no problem with participating in any elections if their reference is not “Oslo”. However, before this and that, the movement insists on “formulating a national program commensurate with the size of the sacrifices and struggles of our people.” The question now is: How will the other powers act in relation to what Al-Nakhalah declared quite clearly? Will it proceed with its meetings without issuing an invitation to “Islamic Jihad”? Or will you cancel these meetings and consider that something is necessary, since the agreement between “Fatah” and “Hamas” has made its way? Or do you grow bitter to bear the positions of “jihad” inside the halls? It is almost certain that taking into account the positions announced by the Secretary-General of the Movement will change the strategy in which these meetings are proceeding, which seems far-fetched until the moment. Nevertheless, Abu Tariq insists on remaining the voice that warns of moving beyond illusion and mirage.
In the regional and international file, the bran was no less clear. He believes that what is taking place today is “redrawing alliances in the region and the world, under rude American supervision, based on the standards of immoral power that have characterized the United States of America since its inception.” As for the issue of normalization, it comes “within the framework of rearranging the region, and it has one clear goal, which is to introduce the Arab region, with its history and civilization, to the Israeli home of obedience,” pointing out clearly that “the Arab League is paralyzed and cannot even re-read its previous decisions.” The bran, and affirming the movement’s adherence to the approach established by the martyr Dr. Fathi Shikaki, and what the previous leader Ramadan Shallah accumulated, may God Almighty have mercy on them, he affirms the movement’s adherence to armed resistance as the only way and option that can save the Palestinian situation in crisis from its crisis, and that every bet on other than resistance is a bet The mirage and the marketing of delusions Some may see that the Secretary-General’s speech to “Jihad” does not respond to developments in the internal, regional and international situation and developments, but is this not the constant accusation since the movement’s inception? Didn’t such accusations echo in many pivotal stations, while days have proven that adherence to the option of the resistance and its weapons is the only approach that produced a real victory that impeded the Zionist project and represented an existential threat to it? Was it not clear from the outset that Ziad al-Nakhalah did not belong to the stereotypical discourse that dominates the Palestinian arena, and that he has his own and unique style that will confuse many calculations and tactics for a clear strategic interest, namely, adherence to the resistance until complete liberation, whatever the challenges and circumstances, without equivocation or sharing?
