The police started a manhunt overnight after the “execution” of a former bike on the Gold Coast.

47-year-old Shane Bowden was shot multiple times in his car in the driveway of his house in Pimpama early Monday morning.

Queensland police said a burned-out car was found nearby a short time later.

Two crime scenes have been set up – one in a unit complex on Cox Street in Pimpama, the other where the car was found in Ormeau.

Detective Superintendent Brendan Smith spoke to the media Monday morning and said the police had hunted “at least two men”.

“We believe the victim came home from the gym, pulled into the driveway, and the attackers walked in and shot him multiple times,” said Supt Smith.

“It seems clear that he was ambushed.”

It is believed that Bowden’s partner and two young children were home at the time of the incident but did not witness the horrific shooting.

Police say they are looking for at least two men – one in dark clothes and the other in light clothes.

Supt Smith said there was “no risk to the community” as it appeared to be an internal Mongolian incident after Bowden was reportedly “kicked out” of the gang earlier this year.

“You live by the sword, you die by the sword,” said Supt Smith.

Bowden recently made headlines when he was accused of lying on his border statement when returning to Queensland from Melbourne after previously testing positive for COVID-19.

He was once part of Finks’ “Terror Team” and was responsible for the shooting of Christopher Hudson during the infamous ballroom lightning strike.

In March 2006, three men were shot dead and three others stabbed when members of the Finks attacked rival Hells Angels bikes in the ballroom of the Royal Pines Resort.

In 2008, Bowden was sentenced to six and a half years in prison for his role in hand-to-hand combat, which took place in front of 1,800 spectators and caused more than $ 10,000 worth of damage.

Weeks after his release from prison in July of that year, Bowden was the target of a drive-by shooting in Melbourne in July in which he was shot in the leg.

When he returned to Queensland in August, he related The courier mail he wanted to return home to recover from his wound.

There’s more to come.
