The exhibition – which will last until December 11 – will open its doors to visitors daily from 8 in the morning until 8 in the evening at the headquarters of the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Complex, and most of the printed models are displayed in the external area of the building in addition to internal areas for small and medium pieces.

The organization of this exhibition comes in accordance with the wise directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to make scientific research and innovation a permanent culture in the Emirate of Sharjah, as the exhibition provides a comprehensive picture of this unique technology and industry that is receiving global attention for its opportunities in multiple sectors. The exhibition will witness the organization of a series of virtual webinars that include leaders of the 3D printing industry in the Middle East region to initiate a dialogue between the government sector, industry and academia with the aim of accelerating progress and innovation in this industry in Sharjah.
The Sharjah Open Innovation Lab of the complex is also organizing an 8-week workshop for students on 3D printing, where they can learn the basics of this technology to be able to print their own ideas by the end of the exhibition.

The complex began to attract companies operating in the 3D printing sector, supported by the directions and strategies of the Emirate of Sharjah in this field, with the aim of making Sharjah a global destination for this advanced technology that holds promising future investment opportunities, as companies operating in the 3D printing sector in the UAE see a fertile investment environment to launch their investments. In the sector, taking advantage of the state’s trends in this field in many sectors, most notably: construction, health and education, by building factories and offices for them.
Al Mahmoudi explained the importance of the exhibition as it is the culmination of the success of a series of research workshops in introducing the “Innovation Challenge Program in the Construction Sector in Sharjah”, which were held earlier, and the challenge focused on exploring the best ways to apply 3D printing techniques within the construction sector locally and regionally.
