The exhibition will witness the organization of a series of virtual webinars that include leaders of the 3D printing industry in the Middle East region to initiate a dialogue between the government sector, industry and academia with the aim of accelerating progress and innovation in this industry in Sharjah.
The Sharjah Open Innovation Lab of the complex is also organizing an 8-week workshop for students on 3D printing, where they can learn the basics of this technology to be able to print their own ideas by the end of the exhibition.
His Excellency Hussain Al Mahmoudi, CEO of the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Complex, stressed the importance of organizing the exhibition at this time due to the rapid progress and development witnessed by this technology and the industries associated with it, with the increasing interest of specialized international companies to be present in the region, as Sharjah seeks to be a major center and an incubator for major international companies in Tri-print and its tests, in support of the endeavors to strengthen Sharjah’s leadership on the map of innovation, development and global knowledge.
The complex began to attract companies operating in the 3D printing sector, supported by the directions and strategies of the Emirate of Sharjah in this field, with the aim of making Sharjah a global destination for this advanced technology that holds promising future investment opportunities, as companies operating in the 3D printing sector in the UAE see a fertile investment environment to launch their investments. In the sector, taking advantage of the state’s trends in this field in many sectors, most notably: construction, health and education, by building factories and offices for them.
Al Mahmoudi explained the importance of the exhibition as it is the culmination of the success of a series of research workshops in introducing the “Innovation Challenge Program in the Construction Sector in Sharjah”, which were held earlier, and the challenge focused on exploring the best ways to apply 3D printing techniques within the construction sector locally and regionally.
He said: The cooperation between the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Complex and the Oulu University of Applied Sciences has yielded positive results in terms of enriching knowledge and transferring expertise in the field of 3D printing, as we seek to establish research centers in cooperation with various local and international universities, foremost of which is the American University of Sharjah. .
He added: We are working in the Sharjah Research, Technology and Innovation Park with our partners from all over the world to transfer expertise in the field of 3D printing, which is expected to contribute to supplying the global economy with 300 billion US dollars by 2025, which provides the exciting opportunities that await. All those concerned with advanced technology that drives the additive manufacturing industry, and through our international partnerships and our quality initiatives, we look forward to highlighting Sharjah’s role as a leading center for robotics and 3D printing in the construction sector. A world-class environmental supportive of innovation in the fields of construction and 3D printing at the local level.
He explained that 3D printing will have a major role in the future of many sectors, such as construction, medicine, aviation, and others, as the products are manufactured using 3D printing technology, which is rapidly changing our world, and the possibilities are endless, and we are looking at the Sharjah Innovation Park to promote the concept of innovation through Providing industrial companies and enabling them to access a wide range of 3D printing technologies ranging from 3D metal printing and other types of printing through the Middle East Intelligent Manufacturing Center of the complex.
He said: Although the idea of manufacturing (also known as 3D printing) and its practical use, started several decades ago, this technology has recently begun to gain a wider spread, due to the rapid progress in complementary technologies, and this is how we have seen in recent years its impact on building bridges. And multi-storey buildings based on 3D printing around the world .. The UAE is in an ideal position to become a leading center for 3D printing technology.
He pointed out that the most important sectors benefiting from 3D printing are construction, construction, health care, sports, entertainment, aviation, and even the production of goods that are sold in retail stores, as the 3D printing market in the UAE is currently witnessing a great development and maturity as it has become more accepting of printing technologies. 3D and use in manufacturing.
On cooperation and integration with other government departments in supplying the complex projects .. Al Mahmoudi said: We work in the complex in strategic partnerships with a number of government departments in Sharjah, including the Sharjah Municipality and Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority, in a number of research projects and the development of joint mechanisms to support entrepreneurs, calling on entrepreneurs And investors to visit the exhibition and complex to see this kind of promising investments.
