And she went on to say: “According to well-informed Syrian sources, about 1,500 Syrian mercenaries have been deployed by Turkey in the Nagorno Karabakh region in the southern Caucasus, in the latest proxy confrontation between Turkey and Russia, both of which are on the opposite sides in the conflicts in Syria and Libya, and Ankara announced its support for Azerbaijan While Armenia is an ally of Moscow. ”

And she continued: “Shortly after the outbreak of the fighting between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Turkey deployed Syrian mercenaries, sometimes called the Turkish army as a proxy. Thousands of these mercenaries have been recruited for Turkey to fight alongside the Libyan Government of National Accord, which is fighting the Russian-backed Libyan National Army forces.

And she added: “Some of these fighters have returned to Syria; In preparation for moving to Nagorno Karabakh, some of them got a 5-day grace period to train and prepare to travel, while others trained for a period ranging from two weeks to a month, and the first batch of mercenaries “Gaziantep” left for Ankara at the end of September, then they arrived in Azerbaijan on September 25; To explore the region and coordinate with the Azerbaijani army on the deployment of forces ”.

“Foreign Policy” revealed that the mercenaries had received promises of obtaining contracts that would last for 4 months, in exchange for a monthly wage of up to $ 1500, which they obtained in Turkish lira.

She said that many Syrian mercenaries expressed their remorse for joining the battle in “Nagorno Karabakh”, especially after the killing of 55 of their forces, in light of the combat tasks assigned to them, which exceed what was previously agreed upon.

It quoted one of the Syrian mercenaries, who are fighting on the ground in the “Barda” neighborhood in Azerbaijan, as saying: “All the fighters are unhappy with their presence here in Azerbaijan, the psychological conditions are very bad, especially after the killing of a large number of our friends. There is no connection or contact between us and the Azerbaijani forces. ”

Another Syrian mercenary said that he was staying in one tent with about 20 to 30 other fighters, and he worked two shifts a day, each shift lasting for 6 hours. He stressed that everyone wants to return to Syria again, although no one forced them to fight, and they felt sympathy for the cause.
