UAE authorities announced a further 380 cases of Covid-19 on Tuesday taking the number of infections in the country to 45,683.

Officials also said an additional 657 patients had recovered from the virus, while two patients had died.

Saudi Arabia said on Monday that a small number of residents would be allowed to perform Hajj this year. The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah said “very limited numbers” would be allowed to perform the pilgrimage, in line with “the teachings of Islam” and preserving the health of all.

Meanwhile, World No 1 tennis player Novak Djokovic has tested positive for coronavirus, according to a statement from the player.

Worldwide cases stood at 9.1 million on Tuesday, according to the Johns Hopkins University tracker. Overall deaths reached at 472,737, while recoveries passed 4.5 million.
