Coming out! Ellen Page now lives as a trans man named Elliot

Ellen Page (33) is now history! Because from now on the actress officially lives as a trans man. Six years ago, the Oscar nominee, who defined herself as a female, caused a sensation with her coming out. The film star has now been with us for a little more than two years Emma Portner married. In the past few months it has finally become a little quieter Ellen, but now she’s got the next great news out: The 33-year-old is not just a trans man – her name is now Elliot and she wants to be addressed with new pronouns!

In a long statement it says on Elliots Instagram-Account: “Hi friends, I would like to let you know that I am trans, my pronouns are he / she and my name is Elliot. I am happy to be able to write this. I have come to an important point in my life.” But the actor is not only feeling lucky now – he is also aware of what is in store for him. “The truth is that I not only consider myself happy and know what kind of privileges I have – I’m also afraid. Afraid of the hatred, the jokes and the violence.”

Finally, Elliot points out that there has been and continues to be a great deal of violence against trans people – 40 people have been murdered this year alone. The American is all the more proud to be able to support the trans community. He is also particularly happy about the support he gets from his loved ones: “I can’t put into words how great it is to finally love who I really am and to show the world my authentic self.”
