Just a few weeks ago we reported that the anime film “My Hero Academia: HEROES RISING” was coming to theaters towards the beginning of next year. Before that happens, the publisher KAZÉ Anime has now revealed the first details about the disc release.
Disc release in March 2021
The second “My Hero Academia” film is expected to be available on March 18, 2021 as a limited and standard edition on DVD and Blu-ray. In total there will be four different versions, the contents of which are currently not known.
If you can’t wait until the disc release, you can watch “My Hero Academia: HEROES RISING” on January 5, 2021 in the original with German subtitles or on January 10, 2021 with German synchronization in over 200 cinemas.
The film was directed by Kenji Nagasaki, who took on this role in the first three seasons, in Studio Bones. Yousuke Kuroda wrote the script again, while Yoshihiko Umakoshi contributed the character design. The music was composed by Yuki Hayashi. Mangaka Kōhei Horikoshi was involved in the production as chief supervisor.
“My Hero Academia” has so far consisted of four seasons with a total of 88 episodes that were broadcast on Japanese television between April 2016 and April 2020. According to current planning, a fifth season will start in spring 2021.

The story of the film takes place on a cold winter night with snow falling. Shigaraki Tomura, as the leader of the Villain League, plans to destroy the entire Heroes Association. Even before that, when a battle between heroes unfolds, something quietly wakes up and leaves the area without anyone noticing.
Meanwhile, Deku and the rest of the UA Academy’s Class 1A students are told by former No. 1 hero All Might that they are part of a project to “educate the next generation of heroes.” You will be sent to a warm island south of Japan for heroic work for a short time.
Deku and the others are stationed on the island to act as heroes to help the island’s citizens in their everyday lives. Even if their schedule is packed, they also have time to relax. But this calm is disturbed when villains suddenly appear on the island. Little by little, they begin to destroy the facilities on the island. Their leader is called “Nine”. Something wakes up there that night.
Deku, Bakugo and the rest of Class A must join forces to defeat villain Nine! Why is Nine attacking this island in the first place ?! Can Deku and the other “new heroes” protect the citizens of this island from the villain Nine ?!
