In a new interview with the Australian Women’s WeeklyMaggie said Saskia’s death was a “total shock” and the 75-year-old was understandably still resigned to life without her beloved daughter.

“I don’t know you can handle it. They find things to do to get you involved. I don’t know anyone can really handle it, ”she told the publication.

“Your life is changed forever and this year was the worst of my life. But you have to turn your trauma into new things. “

However, she comforts herself with the fact that Saskia – a grocer and cook she shared with husband Colin Beer – died in her sleep.

“We only know that it was peaceful,” said the grieving mother.

Maggie shared the sad news of Saskia’s death on Instagram in February.

“With a broken heart we have to let you all know that our beautiful, extraordinary daughter Saskia died unexpectedly on Friday evening and yet peacefully in her sleep,” she wrote at the time.

“We ask for time / space as we deal with our loss and appreciate the support we have received. Maggie, Colin and family. “

Saskia is survived by her parents and their own children Max (23), Lilly (21) and Rory (17). Her husband Petar Jercic, whom she married in April 2019, also shared his grief on Instagram.

“Our beautiful, extraordinary daughter, sister, wife and mother died unexpectedly and yet peacefully in her sleep on Friday evening,” he wrote. “The business Saskia built and loved will continue with me, her loving husband.

“We ask for time / space as we deal with our loss and appreciate the support we have received.”
