Fasting is observed for the long life and health of their spouses. Fasting for days is very exhausting for some, which is why pregnant women, sick and elderly women are advised not to observe the fast.

We spoke to Ms. Jyoti (Head Dieter at Jaslok Hospital), who explained certain healthy ways to break your fast and foods to have after you eat neck.

Here’s What To Eat Post Karwa Chauth Vrat:

1. Drink water
It can’t be emphasized enough how much water your body needs, especially at this time, to avoid dehydration. So have a bottle ready. If you are bored with the simple taste of water, you can try detox water, juices, etc.

2. Dried fruits and nuts
Nuts and dried fruits are excellent sources of energy. They are also very filling and fill you with an array of minerals and antioxidants. Think: almonds, walnuts, cashews, plums, raisins.

3. Have a balanced meal
This is not the time to cut out essential micro- and micronutrients. Make sure your post-meal meal is balanced in terms of carbohydrates and proteins to restore energy.

4. Avoid fried foods
Try to cut down on fried foods as they can be difficult to digest and acidic.

5. Charge the proteins

6. Lime juice or coconut water
A glass of lime juice or coconut after fasting will help replenish the electrolytes in your body. It’s also great for immunity.

7. Fruits
Breaking your fast by eating fruit can restore energy levels in no time. They’re full of natural sugar; therefore nobody complains. In addition, they are rich in vitamins and fiber that ensure fullness. Some seasonal fruits that we are in awe of are water chestnuts, guavas, apples, and strawberries.
