Emmerdale Spoilers will follow.
Emmerdale introduces a pesky new character when Lawrence Robb first makes his debut as Mackenzie Boyd on Thursday night (October 29).
Scottish charmer Mackenzie is the estranged brother of established character Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) and is set to hit the big screen with a bang. A shock kidnap story is planned.
Mackenzie’s arrival will help the show fully explore Moira’s backstory for the first time, but what more can we ask of him? We wrap up all the gossip and spoilers here.
Who is Emmerdale newcomer Mackenzie Boyd?
Emmerdale Fans may be scratching their heads when Mackenzie arrives out of the blue and announces himself as Moira’s brother – after all, the beloved character’s family was rarely mentioned during her 11-year stint in the Dales.
Don’t worry, you haven’t missed anything – this is the first time Moira’s brother has appeared on the show. It’s also the first time Emmerdale really got into the family life Moira had before marrying her first husband, John Barton.
Mackenzie had a close relationship with his sister Moira when they grew up together. Unfortunately, their time together ended abruptly when a surprising turn of events resulted in Moira leaving the family home forever. Full details on this will be announced in future episodes.
Lawrence Robb, who plays Mackenzie, recently shared Digital spy and other media: “From the time Moira left, Mackenzie let himself be drilled into him that something had happened, and so Moira left.
“He has a preconceived notion of who she has become. He grew up relatively early and has the idea that my sister is like that. “
“Then when he arrives, Moira tells him it’s a little different. I think if someone has believed in something for so long and someone says it is not true, at first you will say, ‘No, you are lying!’
“I think Moira will break through to him at some point, but until then, who knows?”
Natalie J Robb, who plays Moira, has praised the decision to include her character’s sibling after so many years.
She recently told us, “It’s great. It really had been talked about for quite a while, and it was just knowing when the right time would be. It was always John’s family and the family we started – and Nana Barton – but never my father, brother or whatever.
“It’s good because it can explain a lot about why Moira is who she is and why she is so protective of her children. It will be interesting to see, it will be exciting. It’s nice to have that connection with family. “
Emmerdale Spoiler – What’s Next For Moira’s Brother Mackenzie Boyd?
Emmerdale Bosses have confirmed two big dramas with Mackenzie in its opening episodes Thursday night.
Resentful that Moira left him all those years ago, Mackenzie will take revenge by kidnapping her estranged husband, Cain Dingle. (He clearly read the “Revenge Kidnap!” Emmerdale Code.)
The show revealed that Mackenzie is asking Moira to pay £ 5,000 in exchange for Cain’s safe return, and he warns that if she doesn’t part with the money, she’ll never see her ex again.
Mackenzie’s first scenes also show him intersecting with Charity Dingle when their cars collide on a country road. An argument about who’s in charge takes an unexpected turn when Charity shares a kiss with Mackenzie.
This moment will have huge ramifications for Charity’s immediate future, as she has now cheated on her fiancée Vanessa Woodfield.
Looking ahead, Mackenzie and Moira will finally get a chance to sit down for a much-needed chat in the next week’s episodes. Moira tries to show Mackenzie that he doesn’t know the real story behind her decision to break ties with her family.
Natalie J Robb recently told us: “It’s been so long since she saw him. He was always like her little shadow when he was younger. Everything comes back to her and for Moira it’s just a motherly feeling, if anything.
“Apparently Mackenzie isn’t feeling that way, so it’s a bit of a shock to see him again. All of these feelings will flood through her and if she realizes that their relationship is not good then she goes on to have another fight on her hands. “
Emmerdale Bosses have also teased a possible alliance between Mackenzie and Jamie Tate. For the next week’s episodes, Mackenzie disrupts Cain and Sam Dingle’s attempts to get revenge on Jamie, suggesting his loyalty may be to the scheming Home Farm boss.

“Then I went to the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, and studied musical theater there.
“I only did a few minor things after graduating. I graduated some time ago in 2012. I did a thing or two in the West End and just finished filming a Sky series called I hate suzie. „
He revealed a passion for music and added, “I think I originally wanted to go the singer’s path. I haven’t done very well in this regard! I studied musical theater so I learned to sing to a certain extent.
“I think music as a whole would be a massive inspiration for me. Up to this point I have accepted every job as it comes. “
Are Emmerdale’s Natalie J Robb and Lawrence Robb related in real life?
At a recent press conference, new siblings Natalie J Robb and Lawrence Robb were asked – unsurprisingly – for their last names. So is there a connection between them in real life that we should know about?
Short answer: It turns out Natalie and Lawrence aren’t sure either …
Natalie wondered if they are related and laughed: “I have no idea, is the truth! It’s pretty unusual because I’ve never come across another surname, Robb, even in Scotland, so it’s just one of those things, isn’t it? ”Isn’t it?
“It’s quite a coincidence. We tried to track it down a little. We probably are – let’s just say we are! We’ll find out for sure at a later date. “
Emmerdale is broadcast on ITV weekdays at 7 p.m., on Thursdays at 8 p.m. with an additional episode.
