Busta Rhymes recalls losing the rap fight to Jay-Z in high...

Busta Rhymes looked back on his time in high school and rap battles with fellow student Jay-Z.

Busta appeared on the 85 South Show and looked back on the rise of fast flow and chopper rap in the mid-1990s. “Hov was very early on this shit,” he said before remembering a rap fight with Jay-Z while the two were in high school.

“Ultimately, at that moment, Hov got the best out of the battle,” he said. “I’ve just started figuring out how to control my fascination with speed rap. He was already there.

“He did it with an incredible level of skill. And showed that shit like water spilled all over the place. Just take shape and shape how he felt because he was on his shit with it, ”he continued.

“At that point, I always wanted my rematch with my competitive ass,” said Busta. “It didn’t happen, which was okay because I’ve developed my skills to the point that I don’t believe that nobody wants to fuck with a *** now.”

Busta will be releasing his new album next week. The long awaited “Extinction Event Level 2: The Wrath of God” will be released on October 30th and will mark its tenth studio LP.

Earlier this month, he teased a song that features contributions from the late Wu Tang clan member Ol ‘Dirty Bastard.

“I’m in such a good mood that I feel like sharing some shit with you guys. Fuck me real quick, ”he said.
