Not long after Meghan attended the Fortune Most Powerful Women Next Gen Virtual Summit yesterday, social media users pointed out that their comments on the dangers of social media addiction were almost identical to those from The Social Dilemma – Netflix ‘ Documentary about the dark side of social media.
Meghan told the online audience, “There are very few things in the world that you refer to the person who deals with it as a” user. ” People who are drug addicts and people on social media. ”
In The Social Dilemma, statistician Edward Tufte is quoted as saying, “There are only two industries that their customers refer to as” users: illicit drugs and software. ”
Some viewers accused Meghan of “plagiarism” and said she had “ripped off” the documentary.
One wrote, “Omg, so Meghan paid to speak for Fortune again and ripped the Netflix documentary The Social Dilemma Theory about social media users like drug addicts and had the cheek to say she was was not there [social media] for four years?
„The Tig? Sussex Royal Instagram? Twitter? Lügner.“
Another wrote: “Meghan plagiarized her quotes from the social dilemma.”
“Someone saw the social dilemma clearly recently,” said another.

The 39-year-old, who compared people on social media to drug addicts, said: “I haven’t been on social media for a long time for my own self-preservation. I had a personal account years ago that I closed.
“Then we had one through the institution in our UK office. It wasn’t managed by us, it was a whole team.
“That has to do with the area for the job. I personally chose not to have an account so I don’t know what’s out there and in many ways that helps me out.
“I have a lot of worries about people who are obsessed with it and part of our daily culture for so many people that it is an addiction, like many other things in the world.

“People who are addicted to drugs are called users, and people who are on social media are called users.
