King Felipe VI. And Queen Letizia of Spain, together with her daughters Princesses Leonor and Sofia, visited a former arms factory in Oviedo before the annual Princess of Asturias Awards.

The Spanish royal family arrived in the Principality of Asturias in the north of the country this afternoon and were pictured in Fpabrica, the old La Vega arms factory.

The always glamorous Letizia, 48, paid tribute to the region with a bright red trapeze coat by local designer Marcos Luengo.

She paired it with a black leather uterine top with silver metallic studs and black pants, and swapped her usual stilettos for a pair of Hugo Boss ballerinas.

Her and 52-year-old Felipe daughters, Princess Leonor and Princess Sofia, clearly care for their stylish mother.

14-year-old Princess Leonor looked chic in a green silk midi dress with a high neckline and an oversized white blazer coat over her shoulders and light pink flat shoes.

Her sister Princess Sofia, 13, opted for a monochrome ensemble that sported a sleek black coat over a white polka dot top – and had a plaster on her right knee.

Both girls wore their long longs in half pants, while their mother wore her dark hair loosely around her shoulders.

Each recipient present at the ceremony will receive a diploma, a sculpture that the Spanish sculptor Joan Miró created specifically for the awards, and a pin with the foundation’s emblem.

There is also a cash prize of 50,000 euros for each category. This amount will be split if the category has more than one recipient.

The decision to continue the coronavirus pandemic awards with protective measures – one of which was to move them from their usual venue, the Campoamor Theater, which has a capacity of 1,400 guests – to a smaller location and limit the number of spectators.
