Coronation Street Spoiler (October 19-23)

Coronation Street Spoilers will follow.

Next weeks Coronation Street In the aftermath, Todd Grimshaw’s return causes even more chaos on the cobblestones, while Leanne Battersby and Nick Tilsley’s relationship continues to come under pressure due to Oliver’s illness.

Here is a full collection of nine great moments.

1. News of Todd’s return spreads

Mary is startled in the Grimshaw house when she keeps hearing noises in the attic. Most people would call it pest control, but since Mary is Mary she decides Pat Phelan’s ghost must be in charge and calls for an exorcism.

Mary gets Billy on board to sort things out, but they stop when Todd appears at the top of the stairs and reveals he’s back.

2. Eileen causes chaos for Tim

Most people would avoid pissing off a dangerous gangster who was holding them at gunpoint, but Eileen would not. After the recent hostage-taking, she decides to call Mick at home and threaten him with the police.

When Eileen uses the streetcars number and Mick’s husband Erik is the one to answer, a big misunderstanding ensues. Erik arrives on the street accusing Tim of calling his house and having an affair with his husband.

Eileen enters, desperate to sort things out before turning her attention to Mick and urging him to leave her family alone. Eileen points out that Todd is not worth the time or energy of this deadly feud, but will Mick agree that it is time to let it go?

3. Todd tries to get between Billy and Paul

Billy Mayhew and Todd Grimshaw on Coronation Street

ITV

Todd can’t resist teasing Paul when they first meet. Paul is immediately unsure of Todd’s presence on the cobblestones, fearing that it will only be a matter of time before he wins Billy back. Billy promises him that he doesn’t have to worry.

Paul’s concerns are well founded when Todd later catches up with Billy at The Rovers and tries to convince him that they should reunite. Todd boldly explains that Billy doesn’t really love Paul, and although Billy disagrees, his eyes are full of tears after catching up in the pub. Oh man.

Billy tries again to reassure Paul that there is no chance he will reunite with Todd, but Paul fears he will settle for second best.

4. Sean’s son Dylan returns

Sean Tully, Todd Grimshaw and Dylan on Coronation Street

ITV

Sean returns home with his son Dylan (do you remember him?) In tow, but things immediately go wrong when he carelessly manages to lose him.

However, like our spoiler picture, Dylan doesn’t go far and has a heart-to-heart relationship with Todd in the Ginnel. Todd assures Dylan that his father loves him and Sean is very grateful that he stepped in to help. Looks like Todd isn’t all bad.

5. Steve goes to Germany

Steve McDonald on Coronation Street

ITV

The date for the trial has been set, which will determine Oliver’s fate. Leanne wants her case to be as strong as possible and suggests they have to work to get the German doctors back on the side and then bring them in as medical experts.

Steve flies to Germany hoping to convince the doctors to support her case, but when he returns a few days later, with the disturbing news, they refuse to help.

6. Nick admits how he really feels about the trial

Nick Tilsley on Coronation Street

ITV

It’s been an all-round difficult week for Leanne as she interviewed the local newspaper about Oliver’s condition to raise awareness about the fundraiser. The journalist’s insensitive questions angered Leanne and the resulting article was not what she had envisioned.

Natasha feels guilty for recommending Suki to journalists, but she finds a way to make amends by offering Nick a £ 20,000 donation to the fund. Nick doesn’t take the money right away and can’t tell Leanne about it.

Leanne is unhappy when Natasha later mentions the money to her personally. She senses that Nick didn’t tell her because he has already given up on Oliver.

Alone with his mother Gail, Nick later admits that he believes Leanne is fighting a losing battle with the expensive trial ahead. Gail says Nick should be honest, but he points out that Leanne would see his views as a great betrayal.

7. David and Shona are betrayed by Gary

David Platt in Coronation Street

ITV

Gary starts working for Ray Crosby, who plans to buy up the various properties on the street before using the bulldozers. Ray relies on Gary to convince residents to sell their homes, even if it means lying to them about the future.

Gary’s first job is to convince David to accept the offer Ray’s roommate made for the Platt house. He points out that David could rent the house back, which would solve his financial problems without the upheaval of moving with Shona and the children.

It doesn’t take long before David is completely betrayed and agrees to sell as long as the Platts are allowed to stay as tenants. Gary masks his guilt and knows they will all be kicked out within weeks.

8. Gemma and her family are looking for new jobs

Bernie and Gemma Winter in Coronation Street

ITV

Tired of living on the bread line, Gemma urges Chesney and Bernie to find more work. Bernie secures the shift at the café with Roy, while Chesney gets a job in Underworld’s packaging department.

Gemma also asks Jenny to do some shifts at The Rovers, which creates a dilemma when everyone realizes they’ve taken on all the extra jobs and no one is free to take care of the quads. Oops.

In the end, Chesney decides that it may be his job at the factory that will fall by the wayside.

9. Scott increases the pressure on Johnny

Johnny Connor and Scott Emberton on Coronation Street

ITV

Scott is still determined to execute on his plan to rob Ray – and he hasn’t given up on his mission to include Johnny in the scam. Jenny notices how stressed Johnny is and books them a vacation in the Lake District to relax.

Scott is furious when he finds out that Johnny might be on vacation soon and orders him to find a way out.

Johnny has to abandon Jenny on the trip, but Scott reminds him that things could get a lot worse – if Johnny doesn’t follow instructions, Jenny will find out how he once got involved in a robbery and let a man die.

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV.
