Thank you for reading the news about Bollywood actor Sana Saeed on ... and now with the details
Aden - Yasmine El Tohamy - The actress, who played the young Anjali in the Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai', says she's a frequent visitor to the emirate.
Sana Saeed is the daughter of renowned Urdu poet Abdul Ahad Saeed, who passed away in March. Sadly, the actor could not attend her father's last rites as she was stuck in Los Angeles. Sana played Shah Rukh Khan's daughter Anjali in the blockbuster Kuch Kuch Hota Hai when she was 10. After that, she did extensive work on reality TV and featured in movies like Fugly and Student of the Year 2. Now, she's all excited to be shooting her first digital show, 7th Sense, in Dubai. "Who doesn't want to start in a big way on OTT," she tells City Times excitedly when we met up with her along with the cast of the web series in the city.
The actress didn't want to divulge too much about her role except to say the show had a "massive ensemble cast and each one of us has a dynamic presence throughout this season. All of us are holding our own, that's all I can tell you."
Sana often flies down to Dubai from Mumbai to "chill out."
"I love the city, it's so close to home and yet such an exciting destination which we can reach in about two-and-a-half-hours."
While many will remember her for her iconic role in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, the actress says she doesn't remember much about the attention she got when she was a child artiste. "I guess I was too young to realise it then, but growing up I feel a lot of respect for what I've done in the past and I'm blessed to have got the opportunity to work in such a big movie at such a young age."
Working in films is not different from doing OTT shows, she avers. "It's just that, in OTT shows, we have seasons, so we get a break and then come back fresh to shoot again. Whereas when you shoot for a film you are always connected with that one character until the movie ends. But quality-wise, I would say OTTs can match any other medium."
With cinema halls shut due to the pandemic she adds that for the next year or so until Covid-19 ends, she foresees OTT series doing well.
