Thank you for reading the news about Anger over Sushant's death should be taken... and now with the details

Aden - Yasmine El Tohamy - Actor Manoj Bajpayee says public anger over the death of Sushant Singh Rajput should be taken seriously, according to a report in Hindustan Times.

In an interview with Zoom TV, Manoj, who starred with Sushant in the 2019 film Sonchiriya, said Bollywood celebrities should not only accept praise, but also address criticism.

"If the anger is directed towards you, I have to ask the question, right?! When I say that people are right when they are making my film a hit, when the same people are asking me questions, it becomes very important for us to answer those questions. This is (something) what the government also does," he said.

Manoj in an earlier interview with Pinkvilla had praised Sushant, saying the late actor had achieved much more than he did at the age of 34, and referred to Sushant as 'intelligent' and 'bright' apart from being a good human being.

Sushant's death has put the spotlight on, among other issues, Bollywood's reported favoritism and unfair treatment of 'outsiders'. Fans have been extremely vocal on social media in their demand to boycott certain films and cliques they consider tainted by nepotism.

Manoj commented on nepotism within the industry to news channel WION: "Let me start with this, the world is not fair. I have been saying this since 20 years that as an industry we celebrate mediocrity. Forget about industry, as a nation we celebrate mediocrity. Something is lacking somewhere -- in our thought process, our value system. When we see talent, we immediately want to ignore or push it away. This is the value system of ours which is so deplorable."
