The mother of a Gharbia girl who committed suicide because of scandalous fabricated pictures revealed the involvement of the victim’s cousin and a student in the second year at the Faculty of Engineering.
She indicated that the Public Prosecution’s decision to refer 5 defendants to the Criminal Court warmed her heart, saying, “My daughter is sleeping comfortably in her grave.”
She added that the victim’s cousin and one of the main defendants tried to blackmail the victim, several times, through WhatsApp messages and phone calls, sending fabricated pictures and videos of the girl, and I sent her a message “that he is better than the stranger.”
And the mother continued, “We live in a forest, I am shocked, I did not expect that her cousin works in my daughter like this, as this is not a hospital, and it was not clear to us that he was one of the accused of extorting a cent.
Basant’s mother, a victim of electronic blackmail in Gharbia, confirmed that one of the village elders, while offering his condolences, told her that he saw the victim in a dream, “a butterfly in heaven.”
She added that she would not reconcile her daughter’s right to a cent, although one of the accused is the cousin of the victim, saying: “The right of my daughter does not reconcile with her cousin, the blood that is with my daughter and the relationship of kinship is respected.”
The mother of the Gharbia girl revealed the last moments hours before Basant took the grain, stressing that her daughter was in a state of nervous breakdown due to the spread of pictures and videos of her among the youth of the village, and that she tried to calm her down, but failed and was surprised that she took the grain after Friday prayers, leaving a private message that she is innocent.
And she continued: I screamed as loud as my voice and called out to my other daughter in order to save my daughter and accompany her to the hospital, because of the difficulty of her movement, being a patient with a stroke that hinders her movement, and the existence of family disputes with Basant’s father.
The victim’s mother caused a surprise that Basant’s father had a desire to reconcile and could be persuaded to give him a carat of land or a sum of money in exchange for giving up his daughter’s right.
