Farida Ramadan, the male-to-female transgender teacher in the Beheira governorate, appealed to Dr. Tariq Shawky, the Minister of Education, to grant her the material dues for the period she worked as a teacher in Damietta Governorate.
Farida said, during her hosting of the “Al-Hekaya” program on MBC Egypt, that she underwent a sexual correction operation to transform from a man called Muhammad Ramadan to a female, explaining: “I seek two needs that I deserve from the Minister of Education and an apartment, God willing, a room and a prayer.”
Farida added, “I am now settling in Buhaira governorate, and I went through health conditions that forced me to undergo a female sex reassignment surgery because of my illness … and I was working in a school and so far and since I underwent the conversion process, I have not returned to my work.”
And about the most difficult thing that she went through to prove her identity after the sexual correction: “The head of the civil registry in our country in the country sat saying:“ I don’t wear this, Mohammed, and treat me as a man… and if I were not guided and understood the situation, I would not have the matter except and told him if I want to reject the file, I refuse ”
Farida Ramadan appealed to the Minister of Education to return to work as a teacher as she was before undergoing surgery.
She indicated that she had become an ordinary person and wanted to marry, and said: “Now I can marry normal … and the state recognizes me as a female.”
