The pyramid of Khufu is the oldest and largest of the three ancient monuments in Giza and is believed to have been built for Pharaoh Khufu over 20 years, although his body was never found, according to what was published by the British newspaper “Daily Express”.

But three of those stones at the bottom of the Great Pyramid caused a sensation when an international team of architects and scientists discovered “anomalies” using thermal cameras.

Officials said that among the possible reasons are the presence of empty areas inside the pyramid, internal air currents, or the use of various building materials. This came when experts searched for hidden rooms inside the pyramids.

A team of experts from Egypt, France, Canada and Japan used infrared thermal imaging to scan the pyramids during sunrise, as the sun heats the limestone structures from the outside, and also at sunset when it cools.

To explain such anomalies, many hypotheses and possibilities, the presence of voids behind the surface, and internal air currents can be made.

But experts did not refer to any concrete explanation for these anomalies, which could indicate the existence of a secret room, and the discovery was made by the ScanPyramid team, the same group of experts that revealed a “big void” near the Queen’s room in 2017.

Less than two years later, in August 2019, it was revealed that a huge second room had been found, this time to the right of the King’s Chamber.

An “impressive” anomaly was found at ground level on the eastern side of the Great Pyramid.
